Susceptibility testing of Candida glabrata clinical strains to echinocandins using SensititreTM YeastOneTM system

Objective. To determine susceptibility of C. glabrata isolates to anidulafungin, caspofungin and micafungin using the SensititreTM YeastOneTM system. Materials and Methods. C. glabrata isolates were taken prospectively from clinical specimens or from strains collections in the participating sites. Susceptibility determination was performed using SensititreTM YeastOneTM (YO10 panel) according to the manufacturer’s guidance, and results were interpreted with M27-A3 CLSI guidelines. Susceptibility of C. glabrata to fluconazole was also determined in order to assess possible correlations of echinocandins and fluconazole minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) in resistant strains.

Objective. To estimate proportion of hard and surrogate endpoints used as effectiveness criteria in pharmacoeconomic studies of antimicrobial drugs. Materials and Methods. The pharmacoeconomic studies of 30 antimicrobial agents proposed for inclusion in the Russian essential drug list in the 2014-2016 were reviewed. Results. A total of 47 effectiveness criteria were analyzed, of them 40.4% were hard endpoints. Two studies of antifungal drugs used the hard endpoints only. The hard endpoints were used in 58.

The clinical Gram-negative isolates obtained from patients hospitalized to the RRCRST over the period of February 2014 to April 2016 were tested. A screening for carbapenem resistance was performed by culture on chromogenic media, and species identification was made using MALDI-TOF massspectrometry. Complicated Community-Acquired Urinary Tract Infections in Adult Patients in Russia

Objective. Objectives. To analyze etiology and antimicrobial resistance of pathogens causing complicated community-acquired urinary tract infections (cUTI) in adult patients in different regions of Russia. Materials and Methods. Uropathogens isolated from urine samples of patients of both gender older than 18 years of age with community-acquired UTI were collected in 21 centers of 17 cities in Russia during 2010–2011 and included in the «DARMIS» study. Results. Among the collected 518 strains isolated from adult patients 282 strains (54,4%) were isolated from urine of patients with cUTI.
