Clinical significance and changes in antimicrobial resistance in ESBL producers isolated over the 2014-2016 in a regional teaching hospital

The role of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae in the etiology of respiratory tract, bloodstream, urinary tract and soft tissue infections in the Tyumen Regional Clinical Hospital has been evaluated for three years time period (2014-2016). …

Ceftibuten in the Treatment of Community-Acquired Urinary Tract Infections in Russia

Objective. Objectives. To investigate etiology and in vitro susceptibility of the most common pathogens causing community-acquired urinary tract infections (UTIs) in Russia. Materials and Methods. A total of 182 uropathogens isolated from urine samples of patients with communityacquired UTI were collected in Russia during 2013–2014 and included in the study. Results. Among the identified microorganisms the most prevalent uropathogens were Enterobacteriaceae (87,9%) and E. coli (68,1%). Drugs active against more than 90% of all Enterobacteriaceae isolates were fosfomycin (98,1%) and ceftibuten (93,1%).

Antimicrobial Resistance of Nosocomial Enterobacteriaceae Isolates in Russia: Results of National Multicenter Surveillance Study «MARATHON» 2011–2012

Species of the family Enterobacteriaceae represent the most prevalent group of nosocomial pathogens. In this paper, we report the data on antimicrobial susceptibility of 573 isolates of Enterobacteriaceae collected in 25 hospitals of 18 cities of …

Escherichia coli as a Nosocomial Pathogen in ICUs

Over the last years, Gram-negative bacilli are the leading cause of nosocomial infections in different part of the world. Intensive care units (ICUs) differ from other units by continuous healthcare worker-to-patient contacts, large number of …

Antimicrobial Resistance of Nosocomial Strains of Escherichia coli in Russian Hospitals

Escherichia coli is one of the main nosocomial pathogens. Recently antibiotic resistance of the pathogen has grown considerably. During our study resistance of 388 nosocomial E. coli isolated in intensive care units (ICUs) different regions of Russia …
