Abstract

Streptococcus pneumoniae strains isolated from children of Krasnoyarsk (Siberia, Russian Federation) were examined. Authors determined Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes and antimicrobial resistance. 16.7% of strains were multiple resistant with high MIC values for erythromycin, clindamycin and tetracycline (256, 128 and 32 mg/l, respectively). Prevalent serotypes were 23F and 19F. Most of serotypes (90%) belonged to those included in pneumococcal vaccines.
