Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Genetic diversity and antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Russia for the period 2022–2023

Objective. To perform phylogenetic analysis to assess ongoing changes in population structure of Russian clinical isolates of N. gonorrhoeae. Materials and Methods. The object of the study was 34 clinical isolates of N. gonorrhoeae obtained from dermatovenerological medical institutions of the Russian Federation in the period 2022–2023. The cultures were spread on chocolate agar with 1% ISOVitalex growth additive and 1% VCAT selective additive (Becton Dickinson, USA). Mass spectrometric studies were performed using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer (Bruker Daltonics, Germany).

Antimicrobial resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in the Russian Federation: regional differences

Objective. To assess regional differences in antimicrobial susceptibility of N. gonorrhoeae in the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods. A total of 365 N. gonorrhoeae strains were isolated over the period of 2015-2016 in Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Bryansk, Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ryazan, Tomsk regions, Republic of Tatarstan and Chuvashiya Republic. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed by agar dilution method and assessed according to MUK 4.2.1890-04 criteria using WHONET software (v5.4). Molecular typing was performed according to the NG-MAST protocol.

Current Trends in Antimicrobial Resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Russian Federation

Objective. of current Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates and determine its trends over the RU-GASP (Russian Gonococcal Antimicrobial Susceptibility Programme) period. Materials and Methods. A total of 293 strains of N. gonorrhoeae isolated in 11 regions within Central, North-Western, Volga, Southern, and Siberian federal districts over the 2015–2016 were included in this study. Susceptibility to benzylpenicillin, ceftriaxone, tetracycline, spectinomycin, azithromycin, and ciprofloxacin was determined by agar dilution method and assessed according to the CLSI, EUCAST and MUK 4.

Guidelines on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing of Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Short review of antibacterial resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae in different parts of the world including Russia is given. In this paper antimicrobial susceptibility testing of gonococci by agar dilution and disk diffusion methods as well as …
