Objective. To investigate spectrum and antimicrobial susceptibility of colonic microorganisms isolated from biopsy samples in patients with ulcerative colitis.
Materials and Methods. A total of 34 patients with ulcerative colitis (19 to 75 years of age) treated in proctology unit (Surgery Clinic of Samara State Medical University) during the 2009–2010 were examined in this study.
Results. A total of 70 gram-negative isolates were obtained, of which Enterobacteriaceae were the most predominant pathogens.
