Abstract

These guidelines present the general requirements to biological specimens assigned for microbiological testing. Instructions on specimen collection in the management of different infections are described. Recommendations on interpretation of microbiological results are given for every group of infections and corresponding specimens. For clinicians, clinical microbiologists, clinical epidemiologists, and nurses.
