Abstract

This article summarizes data on etiology, epidemiology and clinical presentation of acute liver failure. The review provides statistics on the incidence rates of acute liver failure in patients with different underlying diseases, describes the most common complications and the main treatment approaches. The purpose of this review is to raise awareness of acute liver failure among physicians.
