Abstract

Overall 842 cases of admission due to tick bites in Irkutsk area during 2014 were analyzed. Detection of DNA/RNA of the tick-born encephalitis virus, Lyme borreliosis, monocytic ehrlichiosisand granulocyticanaplasmosis in the human serum and in the ticks was performed using real-time PCR. According to the study results we have demonstrate that real-time PCR could be used as a routine tool for diagnostics of tick-born infections.
