Analysis of diagnosis and treatment strategies in 25 patients with necrotizing pancreatitis hospitalized to Emergency Care Clinical Hospital (Smolensk) over the period of 2008–2011 is presented in this paper. Rationale for the use of morphologic and morphometric hepatic parameters as a predictor of complications in necrotizing pancreatitis and a criterion guiding a choice of management strategy is also provided.
