Abstract

Previous edition of the joint guidelines of the European Respiratory Society and European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease on the management of lower respiratory tract infections in adult patients was published in 2005 and raised great interest in medical communities around the world. But during the past years quite an amount of new data on this topic was collected that leaded to the need to update the document. In the present article we tried to review the main aspects of this updated guidelines.
