The present guidelines for clinical practice suggest preferable approaches to the problem of antibacterial therapy pneumonia in children. Сlassification of pneumonia, risk factors, current data on aetiology and antimicrobial resistance of respiratory pathogens are presented. The following questions are discussed indetail: selectionof antibacterial agents, route of administration, dosage and duration of therapy. Comparative characteristics of the antimicrobials commonly used for this indication are given. These guidelines are designed for pediatricians, infectious disease physicians, epidemiologists and clinical pharmacologists.
